๐ Getting Started
What is Court Camper?
Court Camper is a team app for competitive youth basketball. Coaches, players, parents, and fans share one place for the roster, schedule and RSVPs, live game stats, team chat, and photos and videos.
How do I get the app?
Court Camper is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. If someone sent you an invite, the link in it takes you to the right store for your phone.
How do I create an account?
Open the app and tap Sign Up. Enter your first name (last name is optional), email, and a password. We'll email you a confirmation link โ tap it, then sign in.
What do the five tabs do?
- Team โ the roster, season stats, team finances, and team info.
- Events โ the next 7 days and a monthly calendar of games, practices, and meetings.
- Home โ your activity feed: things that need your response, what's new, and what's on today.
- Media โ team photo albums and YouTube videos.
- Chat โ team chat plus direct and group conversations.
The menu icon at the top left of every tab opens the side menu, where you create or join teams and find settings and help.
How do I create a team?
Open the side menu and tap Create Team. Enter the team name and, if you like, an abbreviation (shown in compact spots such as game titles), age group, gender, level, season, and a team logo. You become the team's Head Coach.
How do I join a team?
Open the side menu, tap Join Team, and enter the code you were given:
- An invite code from the team's staff joins you as a coach, a player, or a parent/guardian of a player โ whichever the staff member set up.
- A fan code joins you as a fan, with view-only access.
Can I try the app before joining a real team?
Yes. If you aren't on any team yet, tap Try Demo Team. It creates a fully populated sample team โ roster, completed games with real stats, upcoming events, chat, and photos โ so you can explore everything. Delete it any time from Manage Teams or the Info tab.
Can I be on more than one team?
Yes. You can create and join as many teams as you like, and switch between them from the team name at the top of the Team tab.
What are Family Plus and Team Pro?
Everything a team needs to run โ events, RSVPs, chat, rosters, and stat tracking โ is free.
Family Plus is a monthly or yearly subscription for your own account. It unlocks Player Career Profile and archiving teams. Subscribe from See Family Plus on either feature, and use Restore Purchases there after reinstalling the app.
Team Pro unlocks AI Season Reviews and Lineup Plans for one team. Staff buy it from the Team Pro card on the Info tab. It's a one-time purchase that lasts 12 months and doesn't renew on its own โ buying again before it ends adds another 12 months, and coaches with several teams buy one for each. Each player's review can be generated up to 3 times per season. Buying Team Pro does not include Family Plus.
How do I plan who plays each period?
Open the game from the Events tab and tap Build Lineup. Who is playing starts from the RSVPs, and you move anyone between Playing and Not playing with a tap โ RSVPs are often out of date by game day.
Tap Build Lineup on that screen and you get a lineup for every period that gives everyone the same number of periods, give or take one, with each player in a position you rated them for. Tap any player in a period to swap them, then save. The plan also lists where it had to compromise, such as playing someone out of position or without a rest.
The first 5 games are free for each team; after that lineup plans are part of Team Pro.
How do player ratings work, and who can see them?
A rating is your judgement of how strong a player is in one position, from 1 to 5 โ a guard might be a 5 at point guard and a 2 at centre. Open the Roster tab and tap the star beside the position filters, or open Build Lineup on a game and choose Player ratings from the menu in the top right.
Head coaches, assistant coaches, and admins can set ratings. They are never shown to players, guardians, or fans. A player you haven't rated is never put on court by the plan โ it warns you and asks you to rate them first rather than guessing a number for them.
Can players and parents see the lineup plan?
Only if you share it. Turn on Share with team before saving, and the plan appears as a Lineup Plan button on the event for players, guardians, and fans. Left off, it stays visible to staff only. From that screen you can also share the plan as an image, to post in a team chat or send to parents.
๐ฅ Teams & Roles
What are the different roles?
| Staff | Player | Fan | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manage the team and roster | โ | โ | โ |

Parents and guardians act on behalf of their player, so they can do what a player can. Staff have a title โ Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, Admin, or Treasurer.
How do guardians work?
A guardian is a parent or caregiver linked to a player โ ideal for younger players who don't have their own account. Guardians RSVP for their player, chat, vote in polls, and edit their player's profile. Each player can have up to two guardians.
How do I invite a player or a parent?
- On the Roster tab, add the player first with the + button if they aren't listed.
- Tap Send Invite on the player's card.
- Choose Player if they'll use their own account, or Guardian for a parent.
- Copy the invite and send it by text or email. When they join with the code, they're linked to that player.
To invite a second guardian later, tap the small + next to the first guardian's name on the card.
How do I invite another coach or staff member?
Go to Team โ Info and tap the invite icon on the Staff List card. Choose their title and share the code. Head Coaches, Team Managers, and Admins can also promote someone who is already on the team using the up-arrow icon on the same card, and change staff titles with the pencil icon.
How do fans follow the team?
Staff and players can share the team's Fan Invite Code from Team โ Info. Fans can see the roster, schedule, and who's coming, and can like photos and videos. They can't chat, RSVP, or see stats.
How do I edit team details or add a team logo?
Go to Team โ Info. Head Coaches, Team Managers, and Admins can tap the pencil to edit the name, abbreviation, age group, gender, level, season, and description, and tap the team avatar to add or change the logo.
How do I edit a player's profile or photo?
On the Roster tab, tap the small pencil at the top right of the player's card. You can change the name, jersey number, positions, date of birth, and photo โ photos are cropped to a circle. Staff can edit any player; players can edit their own profile, and guardians their own player's.
How do I leave a team?
Open the side menu and tap Manage Teams, then Leave Team on that team โ or use Leave Team at the bottom of the team's Info tab. You'll be asked to confirm first.
๐ Events & RSVPs
How do I create an event?
Staff tap the + button on the Events tab and choose Game, Practice, Meeting, or Other. Add the date and time, location, arrival time, and notes. For games, enter the opponent and choose league, tournament, or exhibition, home or away, and the game format โ the title (for example "LAK @ WAR") is created for you.
How do I RSVP?
Tap Yes, Maybe, or No on the event card โ on the Events tab, on the Home feed, or on the event itself. Parents RSVP for their player. Events still waiting for your answer appear at the top of Home under Needs Your Action.
How do I see who's coming?
The ring beside the RSVP buttons shows how many have said yes. Tap it, or open the event, to see everyone grouped by Yes, Maybe, No, and No Response.
How do repeating events work?
When creating an event, choose how often it repeats and until when. Each occurrence is its own event, so players RSVP to each one. When you edit or delete one, you choose This Event Only or All Future Events.
How do I cancel or restore an event?
Open the event, tap the three-dot menu at the top right, and choose Cancel Event. Staff, players, and guardians on the team are notified (unless they've turned off cancellation notifications), and the event stays on the schedule marked CANCELLED. Choose Restore Event from the same menu to bring it back.
Can an event last several days, like a tournament?
Yes. Set an end date after the start date. The event shows on every day it spans in the calendar and stays in "Next 7 Days" until it's over.
How do I find events for just one team, or just games?
Tap the team name at the top of the screen to pick a team, and use the Game / Practice / Meeting / Other pills to filter by type. Your team choice is remembered and shared with Home, Media, and Chat.
๐๏ธ Calendar Subscription
Can I see team events in my phone's calendar?
Yes. On the Events tab, tap the calendar icon at the top right (or find Team Calendar on your team's Info tab), then tap Subscribe to Calendar and Add to Calendar. Games, practices, and meetings then appear in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook and stay up to date.
See Subscribe to your team calendar for step-by-step instructions for each calendar app.
Why don't changes show up in my calendar right away?
Your calendar app decides how often to check for changes โ Apple as often as every 15 minutes, Google up to once a day. For last-minute changes, trust Court Camper and its notifications.
I shared my calendar link by mistake. What do I do?
Open the subscription in the app and tap Reset link. The old link stops working immediately; subscribe again with the new one.
๐ Game Stats
How do I track stats during a game?
- Open the game on the Events tab and tap Track Stats.
- On the Track tab, drag five players from the bench onto the court to set the starting lineup.
- Tap a player on court and choose what happened โ made or missed shot, rebound, steal, turnover, foul, and so on.
- For shots, tap where on the court it was taken to build the shot chart.
Only staff can track stats. Tap the help icon on the Track tab for the stat-keeping rules we follow.
How do substitutions work?
Drag a bench player onto a court player to swap them, and enter the game clock when asked. At the end of each period everyone is subbed out automatically, so drag in a fresh lineup before the next one.
How do assists and free throws get recorded?
After a made basket you're asked Who Assisted? โ pick the player or skip. When a player draws a foul, the app walks you through who fouled, how many free throws, and each make or miss.
How do I end a period, go to overtime, or end the game?
Tap END PERIOD. After the last period, a tied score offers overtime; otherwise confirm to end the game. The team is notified that stats are ready. You can reopen a game later if you need to.
I recorded something wrong. How do I fix it?
Go to the Plays tab. Long-press a play to edit, delete, or move it, or to insert a missed play above or below it. Stats, the box score, and minutes update right away.
Where do I see a game's results?
The Summary tab has scores by period, a team-versus-opponent comparison, and shot charts. The Box Score tab lists every player's stats โ tap a column to sort, or long-press it to see what the stat means. Players and staff can view games; staff can edit them.
Where are season stats and individual player stats?
Go to Team โ Stats for the season: team comparison, performance trends, shot charts, the player leaderboard, and the game log. Once the team has played more than five games, use Earlier and Recent to compare parts of the season. Tap a player to see their key stats, a radar chart against teammates, trends, and their shot chart โ and compare them with another player.
How do I share stats?
Tap the share icon on a game's Summary or Box Score tab, on the season Stats tab, or on a player's page. Court Camper creates a clean image you can send anywhere.
What do TS% and EFF mean?
- TS% (True Shooting) measures scoring efficiency counting twos, threes, and free throws: points รท (2 ร (field goal attempts + 0.44 ร free throw attempts)).
- EFF (Efficiency) adds up the good (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) and subtracts the costly (missed shots, missed free throws, turnovers).
- +/- is the score difference while the player was on court.
๐ Player Career Profile
What is a Player Career Profile?
A player usually has a separate record for every team and season. A career profile links those records as one player, so their stats can be seen across all of them instead of one season at a time.
Who can use it, and how do I link records?
Players with their own account, and guardians for their players, with a Family Plus subscription. Open the side menu and tap Player Career Profile, tick two or more records that are the same player, and tap Link Records as Same Player. Add another season later with Add another season.
Where do I see career stats?
Tap the photo or name on a linked profile. Career Stats combines key stats, a radar chart, trends, a shot chart, and a game log across every linked season โ use the pills at the top to view the whole career or a single season.
How do I unlink a record?
Tap Unlink on that season. A profile needs at least two records, so unlinking down to one removes the profile. The player records themselves are never deleted.
๐ฌ Chat
Who can use chat?
Staff, players, and guardians. Fans don't have access to chat.
How do I start a direct or group conversation?
On the Chat tab, tap +, pick the team, and choose people. One person starts a direct message; two or more create a group you can name. Team chat is listed on top, your other conversations below.
How do polls work?
Tap the poll icon beside the message box, write a question, and add 2 to 6 options. New polls are pinned automatically. Everyone gets one vote and can change it while the poll is open; votes aren't anonymous. The poll closes when its creator closes it or when everyone has voted.
How do I reply, react, pin, save, or delete a message?
Long-press the message:
- Reply quotes it in your next message.
- Reactions ๐ โค๏ธ ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ข ๐ฅ appear along the top.
- Save Message keeps a private copy โ find saved messages from the bookmark icon on the Chat tab.
- Pin (staff) keeps it at hand for everyone under Pinned Messages.
- Delete โ staff can delete any message, players their own.
How do I send a photo or @mention someone?
Tap the photo icon to take or choose a picture. Type @ to pick a teammate by name โ they'll see the message at the top of their Home feed.
How do I search a chat?
Tap the search icon at the top of the chat and type a word or a person's name. Tap a result to jump to that message.
How do I mute a chat or leave a conversation?
Open the chat and tap the three-dot menu. Mute stops notifications for that chat โ it shows a small dot instead of a count when there's new activity. In direct and group conversations the same menu has Leave Chat, plus Members and Rename Group for groups.
๐ท Media & Albums
How do I create an album?
On the Media tab, tap +. To keep a game's photos together, open the event and tap Create Album โ the album is linked to the event and named after it, and from then on the same button reads Event Album and opens it. Staff and players can create albums.
How do I add photos or a YouTube video?
Open the album and tap +. Take a photo, choose several from your gallery at once, or paste a YouTube link โ the thumbnail loads automatically and you can add a caption. Photos are resized before uploading, and the team gets a notification.
How do likes work, and where are my liked photos?
Tap the heart on any photo or video โ everyone, including fans, can like. Use the Liked filter at the top of the Media tab to see everything you've liked.
Who can delete photos and albums?
You can delete what you uploaded; staff can delete anything on the team. An album can only be deleted once it's empty. Deleting an event never deletes its album โ the album is simply unlinked.
๐ Home & Notifications
What's on the Home screen?
- Needs Your Action โ events waiting for your RSVP, polls you haven't voted in, and messages that mention you.
- What's New โ new photos and videos, new or cancelled events, finished game stats, and reactions to your messages. Tap one, or Dismiss all, to clear them.
- Coming Up Today โ everything on today's schedule.
The number on the Home tab counts the items that need you.
Which notifications can I turn off?
Open the side menu and tap Notifications to switch these on or off: new events, event cancellations, game stats, new photos, and new videos. Chat notifications are controlled per chat โ mute a chat to silence it.
๐ฐ Team Finances
How do I track team income and expenses?
Go to Team โ Finance. Staff tap + to add income such as dues or sponsorships, or expenses such as tournament fees and equipment. Tap a transaction to edit or delete it. The balance card shows income, expenses, and what's left.

Which version of the app do I have?
Open the side menu โ the version number is shown at the top right, next to the Court Camper name.
How do I send feedback or report a problem?
Open the side menu and tap Send Feedback โ it goes straight to us. You can also email support@courtcamper.com. Mentioning your app version helps.
๐ ๏ธ Troubleshooting
I'm not getting notifications.
- Check that notifications for Court Camper are allowed in your phone's settings.
- In the app, open the side menu โ Notifications and make sure the types you want are on.
- For chat, make sure the chat isn't muted (look for the crossed-out bell next to its name).
My invite code doesn't work.
Check the code for typos. Codes can expire or be used up, so ask the team's staff for a new one if it still fails. A guardian code won't work if the player already has two guardians, and you can't join if your account is already on a team.
I can't see Chat or Stats.
Fans have view-only access and don't see chat or stats. If you should be a player, parent, or coach, ask the team's staff to send you the right invite.
The app says "Could not connect".
Check your internet connection and tap Retry. While you're offline, most screens you've opened before โ the roster, stats, events, and media โ still show what they last loaded, and refresh once you're back online.
